September has passed by and October is nearing it's end. The weather has just this week shown more glimpses of Fall. Cooler temps and a cold wind have been present for a few days now. I would say that the past few months have been overwhelming, to say the least. The end of August I turned 40. Not a big deal really. Phil's mom hadn't felt well all summer, but it was the beginning of September when things really went "south". We found out that she has stage 4 liver cancer. All these life changes were occurring while Phil, the kids, and I were carrying quite the secret around with us. In July, Phil and I were caught off guard with the unexpected blessing of becoming pregnant with our 4th child. So, we made it to the 12 week mark the end of September and shared our news with our family and friends! Phil just keeps telling me, "Life Happens!" Progress on the house has seemed to be slow. With Blake playing football and Samantha playing volleyball, we have very few nights and/or weekends at home to work. However, here is a rundown of our progress in September and October: Phil polyurethaned the upstairs hallway. Now we are waiting on the carpet layer to come back and lay the carpet on the staircase that leads upstairs. Phil has also added more trim and base board on the main floor and upstairs. The boys both have curtains hung in their bedrooms now! We also now have grass in our front yard, thanks to Phil. He installed underground sprinklers in the front (with the help of Darrel Harrington), after leveling and moving dirt, and then Darrel planted grass. It is nice to look out and see green grass, rather than weeds! We are currently in the process of choosing a fireplace to be installed in our living room. Phil will continue to work on completing the trim and baseboards. There are some pieces of wood that still need painted. Because he is designing his own trim boards, it is much more time consuming, due to all of the cutting. Baby announcement on FB Sept. 15, 2017 Oct. 9, 2017 Connor & Maverick
