We are very excited to begin the process of renovating our "new" home! This is extra special, as I am the 5th family member to own this piece of land. I am the 6th generation from the first land owners, John & Catharina Buescher. They are my great-great-great grandparents! John & Catharina purchased the land in 1882. |
Second Land OwnersHenry & Mary (Great-Great Grandpa & Grandma) purchased the land in 1888, and began building the present home in 1902. John (1st land owner) was a carpenter and helped to build the home. My great-grandpa, George Buescher) is the boy standing between his parents, Henry and Mary, in this photo.

Third Land OwnersMargaret & George (Great Grandma and Grandpa). I remember spending time with both of them when they lived in town, where my parents currently live. Grandpa had a strawberry patch down the hill near his old work shed that he piddled in. I enjoyed being his helper, especially picking his strawberries! Grandma made/decorated foam refrigerator magnets that I thought were very neat! Even though she eventually had debilitating arthritis, and was likely in a lot of pain, she was always happy and fun to be around.

Fourth Land OwnerColleen (my great-aunt). I have many happy memories with my great-aunt Colleen, including a couple memories from the farm where I will soon live. She always had kitties, and I especially remember her blue-eyed, grey kitten named Snowball, that I fell in love with. I also remember watching Romper Room in her living room, and eating hard strawberry candies. The other very special memory I have is that Colleen made & decorated lots of cakes for weddings, birthdays, etc. She taught me how to make flowers out of frosting, and let me decorate a plastic cake cover in her kitchen. Colleen was, and continues to be, special to me because she always had time for me, and had a way of making a little girl feel important. I chose her to be my Confirmation sponsor, as well.
